Finneas has admitted touring without his sister Billie Eilish is “very bittersweet”.
The singer-songwriter has accompanied his younger sibling on many of her headlining tours, but hasn’t joined her for her current Hit Me Hard and Soft shows. During an appearance on the Therapuss podcast on Thursday, Finneas discussed his mixed feelings about seeing Billie hit the road without him.
“It’s been very bittersweet. I only decided to do it because I knew that I couldn’t be in two places at once,” the 27-year-old star told podcast host Jake Shane.
“I can’t do my own tours and her tour at the same time, and I don’t want to prevent her from touring as much as she wants to tour.”
In the past, Finneas – who has also co-written and produced some of Billie’s biggest hits – has been a staple on his sister’s tours, joining her on stage to play drums and electric guitar.
However, he’s been forced to miss the Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour as he’s been busy with his own series of shows around the world.
Finneas insists that despite his absence, his 23-year-old superstar sibling is still thrilling fans with her live performances.
“And then the sweet part has just been I’ve seen the show a few times and it’s amazing. I think her show is incredible. It doesn’t suffer at all because I’m not there,” he shared.
“She’s great, and I’ve come out and done a song or two, but I really think she’s doing the best show she’s ever done. So that’s lovely.”
