FKA twigs is “completely heartbroken” after being forced to postpone her upcoming tour of North America due to visa issues.
The British singer-songwriter, real name Tahliah Barnett, had been due to play shows in Chicago on 26 and 27 March, in Toronto on 30 and 31 March and in New York City on 3 and 4 April as part of her Eusexua Tour.
However, FKA twigs took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to announce that the shows would need to be rescheduled after her production team failed to obtain the correct visas.
“Today I was informed that production did not fill out the correct paperwork in a timely manner for us to have our visas to come to the USA and perform,” she began. “So that means by no choice of my own I will have to pull out of my New York, Chicago, and Toronto shows.”
FKA twigs went on to explain why it ultimately made sense for her to postpone the Canada gigs.
“For those of you who are wondering why I have to pull out of Toronto because it’s not part of the United States, it’s because of routing and just the complex beast that touring is,” the 37-year-old continued. “I don’t take this lightly. I’m completely devastated, to be honest with you. Completely heartbroken. All I want to do is be there with you and bring Eusexua to you.”
Elsewhere, FKA twigs assured fans she is “looking into how and why this happened” and promised that more information about the postponed shows would be available soon.
The Cellophane singer is next scheduled to perform in Mexico City on 6 April before heading to California for the Coachella music festival.
