Florence Road tackle “feeling out of place, lost and confused” on soaring new single ‘7563’

Florence Road have shared a new single, ‘7563’ – you can listen to it below.

The Irish band and former NME Cover stars‘ latest track follows on from their 2026 breakout song ‘Hanging Out To Dry’, which reached Number One on the Irish Airplay Chart and went viral on TikTok.

”7563′ is about feeling out of place, lost and confused. Not being sure of who you are,” the group explained in a statement.

“It’s about knowing that you need to break yourself out of it, feeling that something is calling at you to wake you up from this ‘bad dream’.”

Kicking off with a soaring, anthemic intro, the single finds singer and guitarist Lily Aron admitting that “everything’s blue” before asking: “When will it end?”

In the heavier chorus, she adds: “Dive slow and I’m falling for hours / And the seahorse is pulling me downwards / And I’m tangled in the fright / Dive slow, and I’m trapped in the towers / And the ceiling’s beginning to shower / So I guess it’s fight or flight.”

A frantic and distorted fast-paced bridge follows, including the lines: “Something calling and it’s calling and it’s calling me / Calling and it’s calling and it’s 7563 / Ringing and it’s ringing, and it’s ringing right in front of me / 75 / 75 / 7563.”

Florence Road have been playing ‘7563’ at their live shows since 2024, and it has since become a fan favourite.

“So happy to finally release this song, after two years of playing it live,” they wrote on social media. “We’ve had the joy of playing it in Australia, across Europe and in America, and now you can finally know what the lyrics are.

“This song means the world to us. For anyone with the strange feeling of becoming a stranger to yourself.”

The four-piece released their debut mixtape, ‘Fall Back’, last summer. Their EP ‘Spring Forward’ followed earlier this year.

Florence Road, who were nominated for BBC Radio 1’s Sound Of 2026, are due to appear at Reading & Leeds and Ireland’s Electric Picnic later this month. They’ll also play a run of headline shows in Ireland at the end of the year. Find any remaining tickets here.

Last month, the band opened for Wolf Alice at their massive homecoming gig at London’s Finsbury Park. Their other recent live appearances include slots at Latitude, Tramlines, Kendal Calling and Boardmasters. This spring, they embarked on their biggest UK headline tour yet.

The NME 100 alumni spoke to us for their Cover feature in May. During the interview, Aron explained that ‘Spring Forward’ captured “love in a nutshell”. She added: “Different types of love. It’s how you receive love, how you understand it, processing the negative and the good.”

Drummer Hannah Kelly added: “If ‘Fall Back’ is falling back into adulthood, ‘Spring Forward’ is like putting your shoes on and being like, ‘OK, let’s keep going.’”

When asked what Florence Road were most determined to hold on to as they keep growing, Aron replied: “Inner peace. Just being happy and sure of ourselves and not letting anyone else’s opinions except the four of ours really matter.”

The group created an exclusive playlist to accompany the story’s launch, titled ‘Songs For A Road Trip’ – featuring Cameron Winter, MUNA, Wet Leg and more.
