Foals have teased a new album in 2026.

The British rock band – comprised of Yannis Philippakis, Jack Bevan, Jimmy Smith and Walter Gervers – has not released a record since 2022’s Life Is Yours but hinted that fans can expect new music this year.

The band posted a photo of a recording studio and white board chart referencing recording of various songs on Instagram and wrote: “HNY! 2026…The Year of The Fire Horse…”

Frontman Yannis previously declared that Foals – formed in Oxford in 2005 – were “a victim of our own success”.

He told Rolling Stone UK: “We’ve been so productive and a victim of our own success. I find it baffling how productive we’ve been with Foals considering the touring. It’s been constantly fertile since we were 19. I am excited to do more but it’s important to have this brief inhalation and to look around and find out where we’re at.”

Back in 2022, Foals announced the band was planning to “down tools” and take a break in 2023.

Yannis told NME: “We’ve got some time off in early 2023, which will be great. We’ll probably just rest and recuperate because this tour has been awesome but quite long …

“We should down tools for a bit and just enjoy where we are in our lives for a minute and stretch our legs creatively.”
