Fontaines D.C. have announced the upcoming release of their new single ‘It’s Amazing To Be Young’. Find out more below.
The news of new music comes as the Dublin band began hinting at more material yesterday (February 19) – dropping a snippet of the track and a preview of what seems to be a forthcoming music video.
“It’s amazing To be young / Sometimes I wake up and it’s dark / Perform the ritual that puts me in the part,” frontman Grian Chatten sings over an upbeat melody and acoustic guitars.
It also came in a similar realm to their 2024 single ‘Favourite‘ which was the second preview of their critically-acclaimed fourth album ‘Romance‘.
Now, the band have confirmed that the single is titled ‘It’s Amazing To Be Young’, and revealed that it will be available from midnight.
“Midnight. Our new song ‘It’s Amazing To Be Young’ is out at midnight,” they wrote in the caption of a new Instagram post. The image seems to be of a vinyl record in its covering, showing a faded, multi-colour pattern.

The band’s aforementioned latest album, ‘Romance’, arrived last summer and marked their first LP with XL Recordings. In a glowing five-star review of the James Ford-produced record, NME wrote: “‘Romance’ offers moments of wonder and gravity while also feeling occasionally foreboding.”
Since the record was shared, the band announced details of international tour dates that span into 2025. These include an upcoming tour of Japan, Australia and New Zealand – kicking off later this month.Check out the full list of dates and get any remaining tickets here.
This spring will also see the group potentially take home a BRIT Award, as they have been nominated for International Group Of The Year at this year’s edition of the BRITs. They face competition in the category from Amyl And The Sniffers, Confidence Man, Future and Metro Boomin, and Linkin Park.
Elsewhere, Chatten and co. have received praise from Pete Doherty – who described them as one of the “really good acts coming out of Ireland” – and seen Porter Robinson cover their song ‘Favourite’ for Triple J’s Like A Version series.
