Finneas will hit you hard and solo next year on a new leg of North American tour dates in support of his latest album, For Cryin’ Out Loud, which came out last week. The trek will kick off the day before Valentine’s Day in Nashville and hit major cities on the East Coast and Midwest before ending in his hometown of Los Angeles* in early March. Bad Suns will serve as support throughout the tour.
Tickets for the tour will be available to the general public at 10 a.m. local time on Friday. Various presales begin Tuesday with full details on Finneas’ website.
In the run-up to the album release, Finneas released videos for the title track, “For Cryin’ Out Loud,” as well as “Cleats.” “I made my last album [2021’s Optimist] completely alone in a room,” he told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “And that was satisfying to some degree, because I just worked on it until it sounded how I wanted it to sound. But it was really lonely and I didn’t feel like, ‘This is the best possible way it could sound, I’m so glad I made it alone.’ I thought I did an OK job. So on [For Cryin’ Out Loud], I’ve made a point to be hyper-collaborative. Fortunately, most of my friends are producers.” Collaborators on the record include members of Bad Suns and songwriters who have worked with Halsey, Olivia Rodrigo, and Daisy.
The tour dates, incidentally, are sandwiched in between runs in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., and continental Europe.
* If you’re feeling hasty to see Finneas solo in Los Angeles, you’re in luck. He’ll be opening for his sister, Billie Eilish, at the Kia Forum on Dec. 21. New Yorkers are even luckier since they stand a chance of seeing him at Brooklyn’s Warsaw on Oct. 12, though the concert promoters report the show is sold out.
