Fred again.. & Latin Mafia Take ‘9 months & 50 hours’ to No. 1: ‘We’re So Happy!’

British producer Fred again.. and Mexican band Latin Mafia are making their first collaborative project count. Their joint album, 9 months & 50 hours, opens at No. 1 on the Top Latin Pop Albums chart (dated Aug. 15). The set also bows at No. 8 on Top Latin Albums and No. 9 on Top Dance Albums, while its tracks power onto the multimetric Hot Latin Pop Songs chart.

“We’re very happy to make our debut on the Billboard charts,” Latin Mafia shares with Billboard from Japan. “We’re especially happy with this project we just released. We’re so happy—keep listening to it! We’re thrilled that you liked it so much. A big hug to everyone and see you soon!”

Before 9 months & 50 hours, Latin Mafia managed a career-high of No. 11 on the Top Latin Pop Albums chart through Todos Los Días Todo El Día in 2024. The new bilingual set takes them to their first No. 1 on any albums chart in addition to a breakthrough appearance on the overall Top Latin Albums chart, where it marks the Hot Shot Debut of the week, at No. 8.

9 months & 50 hours starts with a little over 8,000 equivalent album units fueled mostly from streaming activity. The album’s tracks generated 8.4 million official on-demand streams earned in the United States during the July 31-Aug. 6 tracking week, according to Luminate.

Released July 31 via Fred again../Atlantic/AG Records the 14-track set dropped after a 50-hour livestream on YouTube from Lago Algo in Bosque Chapultepec in Mexico City. 9 months & 50 hours is 2026’s only top 10 debut by a Latin pop act on the Top Latin Albums chart. It also delivers the year’s sole No. 1 debut on Top Latin Pop Albums, making Latin Mafia the first band to open atop the chart since The Mavericks’ En Español in 2020.

The collaboration is a landmark moment for Fred again.., earning him a first appearance and No. 1 on a Latin albums chart and first top 10 on Top Latin Albums. The British producer previously secured a No. 1 album with Secret Life, with Brian Eno, on the New Age Albums chart in 2023. His only previous Latin chart entry came last November, when “Beto’s Horns (Fred Remix)” with Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, reached Latin Digital Song Sales.

On a songs front, 9 months & 50 hours sends 11 of its tracks to the Hot Latin Pop Songs chart, which like its parent ranking, Hot Latin Songs, mixes streaming activity, digital sales and radio airplay into its formula.

Leading the pack is “Te Estoy Correteando,” which launches atop Hot Latin Pop Songs with 1.5 million official clicks in its first week.

Here’s a review of 9 months & 50 hours’ cuts:

Debut, Title, Artist (if other than Fred again.. & Latin Mafia)

No. 5, “Alvafro”
No. 8, “Quiéreme,” with Bby
