Speaking of unreleased music: Fred again.. created yet another big time hype moment when he dropped an unreleased song from Harry Styles’ forthcoming album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally during his Feb. 26 show at London’s Alexandra Palace. He then somehow topped even that moment when announcing this his special guest for his Feb. 27 Alexandra Palace show would be Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter. • Angèle & Justice, “What You Want”

The world got to see French chanteuse Angèle when she performed “Nightcall” with Kavinsky during the French Touch-tastic 2024 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony in Paris. Today, her already bright star ascends with the Justice collaboration, “What You Want.” Melding styles, the trio whip up an ominously sexy earworm, with a tightly choreographed and très stylish video to match directed by French collective (LA)Horde, known for their work with the Ballet National de Marseille and artists including Madonna, Sam Smith, Christine and the Queens.

“I went to say hi in their dressing room after their show, which I’d loved,” Angèle says of meeting Justice. “It was the first time we met, and we talked a lot about our careers and our creative visions. I spontaneously suggested they come to the studio. We spent an afternoon listening to the demos I’d been working on on my computer. I had this track, ‘What You Want,’ a slightly sultry, sensual, offbeat song I’d written. But since I wasn’t completely satisfied with it, I’d put it aside. I thought Justice could bring the electro-club expertise — and the tension — that were missing from that first version. After we met, I sent them the demo, and they came back with this version that I found absolutely brilliant. They understood everything! They brought a power to the track that the intention and balance had been missing. Bringing our worlds together without losing our identities — that’s the greatest success of this song!”

“Spending a bit of time with Angèle confirmed the intuition we had about her: she’s an excellent musician and producer,” Justice’s Gasparde Augé and Xavier de Rosnay add in a joint statement. “Making ‘What You Want’ with her felt as easy as it was natural. Although her music is different from ours, the track called for something sensual and brutal that we instinctively connected with, without compromise.”

“What You Want” is out on Angèle VL Records / Because Music. Listen to it here.

  • Jayda G, “Uncomfortable”

“How’s it feel? Uncomfortable,” Jayda G asks rhetorically before answering the question herself on her latest, “Uncomfortable.” Written during her first session back in the studio after becoming a mom, the song captures the sense of confusion that so often accompanies new motherhood. “Nothing feels the same,” she continues on the track. “I’ve gotta let it go.” This being Jayda G, however, these ideas are wrapped in a warm house production that makes you feel like everything is good and safe and okay, despite the disorientation.

“Uncomfortable” is out on JMG Records. Listen to it here.

  • 2charm, star scum city

Tim Nelson and Sam Netterfield of longstanding Australian pop act Cub Sport transform themselves into 2charm, with the duo’s first album under the 2charm name out today. An absolute confection of influences including hyperpop and heyday EDM, the nine track star scum city pulses with life, ebulliency and the undertow of longing that so often exists underneath while bringing in collaborators including Ninajirachi and 1tpsp. The album lands ahead of 2charm’s eight-date U.S. tour starting in early March.

star scum city is out on Star Scum Records. Listen to it here.

  • Dylan Brady, “Needle Guy”

Reserve three minutes of your precious time for “Needle Guy,” the first new solo material from 100 gecs’ Dylan Brady since 2018. A hectic but tight, bass-y but cosmic production, the track emphasizes all the strangeness and style that audiences know and love Brady for, with this one following his recent collabs with artists including Adéla, Benny Blanco, Charli xcx, FKA twigs and Skrillex, the latter of whom has dropped this one in recent sets.

“Needle Guy” is out on Dog Show Records/Atlantic Records. Listen to it here.

  • Coco & Breezy, “Lie 2 U”

Twin duo Coco & Breezy bring the warmth of spring energy with “Lie 2 U,” an (ahem) breezy house bop that radiates soul. The track follows their Free EP from earlier this month, a project that lends its name to their upcoming Free Your Soul run of shows that will include a guided wellness session led by the twins, followed by their show. The Free Your Soul tour happens in L.A., Chicago, Brooklyn and San Francisco from March 6 through early May.

“Lie 2 U” is out on Insomniac Records. Listen to it here.

  • John Summit & Julia Wolf, “With Me”

The third track from John Summit’s forthcoming CTRL ESCAPE album, coming April 15, features American singer Julia Wolf, who joined Summit in his Miami studio to make music. “I’ve been a big fan of Julia’s voice and indie alternative sound for a while,” Summit says in a statement, “so I asked her if she’s ever been on a dance record and she said no… we merged our sounds to make something I think is truly unique. I really don’t know what genre to call this, but whatever it is there’s no rules and that’s what I love about dance music.”

“With Me” is out on Experts Only/Darkroom Records. Listen to it here.

  • Goose, Everything Must Go Remixed

Hallowed rock act Goose brings together a murderer’s row of producers to remix its album, Everything Must Go. Featuring edits by Chromeo, LP Giobbi, Daily Bread, Dan the Automator, Maddy O’Neil, Gilligan Moss, Louis the Child, Bad Snacks and more, the project adds each of the respective artist’s flavor and tempo to the 2025 LP, making an apt companion piece suited for the afterparty. Goose is touring heavily this spring and summer, with the group’s next date happening March 28 in Athens, Georgia.

Everything Must Go Remixed is out on No Coincidence Records. Listen to it here.
