Garth Brooks shatters BST Hyde Park attendance record

Country music icon Garth Brooks made a historic return to the UK for his first live show in nearly 30 years, performing for a sell-out crowd at American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Brooks became the very first artist to perform under the festival’s newly expanded 69,999 capacity, marking the largest single-day crowd in the history of BST Hyde Park.

A visibly emotional Brooks praised the massive, cowboy-hat-clad crowd, stating:

“Normally the magic comes from the stage but today it came from the audience… I am shocked at the love that was sent this way tonight… I’m not sure what the future is, but you can bet your ass. I’m coming back here.”

The Saturday, June 27 Setlist
Brooks delivered an expansive setlist featuring his timeless hits, acoustic moments, and spontaneous crowd-requested covers:

Rodeo
Two of a Kind, Workin’ On A Full House (Dennis Robbins cover)
The Beaches of Cheyenne
Two Pina Coladas
Night Moves (Impromptu Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band cover)
The River
Papa Loved Mama
The Thunder Rolls
Unanswered Prayers (Acoustic)
That Summer
Callin’ Baton Rouge (The Oak Ridge Boys cover)
Ain’t Going Down (‘til The Sun Comes Up)
Shameless (Billy Joel cover)
Change The World (Gordon Kennedy impromptu performance)
Shout (Robert Bailey impromptu Isley Brothers cover)
The Dance (Tony Arata cover)
Piano Man (Billy Joel cover)
Friends in Low Places (Dewayne Blackwell cover)

Day One Artist Highlights
The historic day featured a packed lineup of country and country-rock talent across multiple stages:
Zac Brown Band: Had the Great Oak Stage crowd singing along to “Toes” and a riotous cover of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia,” while also showcasing “Hard Run” from their new album Love & Fear.

Ashley McBryde: Brought high-energy country rock to the Great Oak Stage, performing her hit “One Night Standards” to a crowd she joked was larger than the hometown populations of her entire band combined.

The Shires: The UK country pioneers had the honor of opening the Great Oak Stage, celebrating how far the British country movement has come.

Alexandra Kay: Wowed the Rainbow Stage audience with “Everleave” and “Straight For The Heart,” alongside a crowd-pleasing cover of Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club.”

Jackson Dean & Mae Estes: Both drew massive crowds to the Rainbow Stage. Dean played tracks from his album Magnolia Sage, while Estes won over the London crowd with “Guitar With A Twang.”

Rising Talent: The Birdcage Stage hosted standout sets from Irish songwriter McGrath, soulful tunes from Leah Blevins, and a pop-infused set from Chanel Yates, who covered Christina Aguilera’s “Genie In A Bottle.”

What’s Next at BST Hyde Park 2026
