Glastonbury has announced Rod Stewart for the festival’s coveted Legend Slot next year. Find all the details below.
The singer-songwriter will perform on the Pyramid Stage at the Worthy Farm event on Sunday June 29. He previously headlined Glasto in 2002, alongside Coldplay and Stereophonics.
“We’re excited to announce that Sir @RodStewart will play the Sunday teatime legend slot at Glastonbury 2025,” a post on the festival’s social media channels reads.
Stewart said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing @glastonbury 2025! After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!”
Sharing a separate update, co-organiser Emily Eavis wrote: “Bringing Sir Rod Stewart back for the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid stage is everything we could wish for. What a way to bow out with the final legends slot before we take a fallow year. We cannot wait!”

Stewart is the first act to be officially confirmed for Glastonbury 2025. He follows the likes of Shania Twain, Yusuf / Cat Stevens, Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, Dolly Parton and Barry Gibb in taking on the prestigious Legend Slot.
Cher had previously been rumoured to be the Legend next summer.
Earlier this month, Stewart revealed that he would be done with “large-scale world tours” when his current run of dates was complete. However, he told fans that he had “no desire to retire” fully.
“I love what I do, and I do what I love,” he continued. “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.
“I’d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next – smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not…”
Stewart will be embarking on Las Vegas residencies in 2025 at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace. Additionally, he is set to tour in Europe and North America, following two shows in Spain and Denmark next month.

Earlier this year, the legendary artist released a collaborative album with Jools Holland called ‘Swing Fever’. Stewart had previously opened up about his plans to switch genres and “leave all the rock ‘n’ roll stuff behind”.
The first batch of general admission tickets for Glastonbury 2025 sold out in just 35 minutes on November 15, following a sale of coach/ticket packages three days prior. This year, organisers introduced a new online queuing system to purchase tickets – which divided customers.
A resale of any returned tickets will take place in the spring.
The first line-up poster for Glastonbury is usually unveiled in early March. Current headliner rumours include Sam Fender, Green Day, Olivia Rodrigo and Lady Gaga. There has been speculation around potential set from Alanis Morrisette too.
Glastonbury Festival will take a fallow year in 2026, it has been confirmed.
