GloRilla may have never graduated from college, but she’s taking her talents to 2025’s Honda Battle of the Bands in Los Angeles next February.
Big Glo is slated to close out the Honda Battle of the Bands event with an electrifying performance on Feb. 1 at SoFi Stadium. The competition will feature six Historically Black College and University marching bands facing off for the first time on the West Coast.
“I can’t wait to turn up the energy at the 2025 Honda Battle of the Bands Invitational Showcase with these dope HBCU marching bands,” GloRilla said in a statement. “This event is gonna be straight fire, showcasing the beauty and brilliance of Black culture.”
The six HBCU schools competing include Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Hampton University, North Carolina A&T State University, Southern University and University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Tickets for the event are still on sale over at Ticketmaster. The competition is slated to kick off at 1 p.m. PT on Feb. 1. Nick Cannon will be taking it back to his days of starring in Drumline as he’s going to be playing host for the Honda Battle of the Bands.
“We know GloRilla will bring to the Honda Battle of the Bands stage the kind of dynamic and entertaining performance our fans have come to expect from musical guests at the nation’s premier showcase for HBCU marching bands,” added Honda Battle of the Bands project lead Jasmine Cockfield. “With the incredible band performances, Nick Cannon hosting and GloRilla as the grand finale, Honda Battle of the Bands 2025 will be a show for the ages.”
2024’s been a banner campaign for GloRilla. She unleashed her anticipated GLORIOUS album earlier in October, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and became the top-selling album of any female rapper this year with 69,000 total album units sold in the first week. The Memphis native also guests on Tyler, The Creator’s Chromakopia standout “Sticky” alongside Sexyy Red and Lil Wayne.
