Information continues to trickle out about Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of its hotly anticipated November 19 release. Today, Rockstar Games unveiled details around one of the long-running series’ best features: the in-game radio stations and their respective DJs.
GTA VI’s programming will include Cocoteo FM, a modern Latin station hosted by Bad Bunny and RaiNao; the best in African music on AfroBank FM, from Burna Boy and Palms Trax; classic metal on Chamber 106.6, from Kerry King and Tom Araya of Slayer; Flash FM’s “best in pop” led by Robyn and model Alex Consani; Dirty South Classics from Trick Daddy and Trina; and Back Country Radio, the home of “renegade country,” led by Morgan Wallen, Lana Del Rey, and—in perhaps the game’s biggest coup—Lana’s husband, Jeremy Dufrene. You can listen to an exclusive clip of Cocoteo from RaiNao and Benito below.
“Cocoteo gets our vibe, our slang, our taste, our pride, our experiences, our traditions, and all our crazy antics,” RaiNao said in a statement to Pitchfork. “It feels incredibly special to lend my voice to GTA VI and do it in the best way possible: having fun, embodying a character who’s like me, and putting our culture, our music, and our people in the spotlight.” The Puerto Rican artist added, “I was never extreme about video games, but GTA was one of my favorites…. Diving around in a stolen car, blasting music with all that adrenaline pumping was THE VIBE. It’s mind-blowing to know that I’ll now be part of that experience.”
In September, Rockstar revealed the details of GTA VI’s 34-song soundtrack, featuring original tracks from Travis Scott, Yung Lean, and PinkPantheress, among others.
