The duet will appear on the deluxe edition of the rock band’s latest LP, I Quit

Haim have dropped a meditative new song, “Tie You Down,” featuring Bon Iver. The emotionally-wrought track will appear on the deluxe version of the group’s most recent album, I Quit, set to arrive on Oct. 17.

“we had to,” Haim teased on Instagram earlier this week. “new song tie you down with @boniver out TOMORROW. i quit deluxe with three new tracks out NEXT FRIDAY!!”

The track sees Haim sharing vocals with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon: “Put your little heart in me now/ Ain’t this how it’s supposed to be?/ I want you here/ But I don’t know how/ Not to tie you down.”

“Tie You Down” reunites Danielle Haim and Vernon after they teamed up on Bon Iver’s  SABLE, fABLE track “If Only I Could Wait” earlier this year. Frontman Justin Vernon called the song, “A duet. A bilateral crying question. How long can the two of us hang on to each other?” Vernon also co-wrote I Quit single “Everybody’s Trying to Figure Me Out.”

Haim dropped I Quit, their fourth album, in June. Their current North American tour wraps this weeks before the band heads to the U.K. for a series of dates. The deluxe edition of I Quit will include three new tracks, including “Tie You Down.” The other two songs are titled “The Story of Us” and “Even the Bad Times.”

Earlier this week, Bon Iver shared a video for their song “Day One,” which stars Jacob Elordi, St. Vincent’s Annie Clark, Cristin Milioti, and Dijon.
