Here’s What Happened Between Victoria Beckham & Brooklyn Beckham at His Wedding, According to DJ

Here’s What Happened Between Victoria Beckham & Brooklyn Beckham at His Wedding, According to DJ

DJ Fat Tony is setting his record straight surrounding the Beckham family feud, in which Brooklyn Beckham accused his mother, Victoria Beckham, of hijacking his first dance with his wife, Nicola Peltz, at their 2022 wedding.

On ITV’s This Morning Friday (Jan. 23), the U.K.-based artist told his side of the story. “Yes I was the DJ at the wedding. It wasn’t a one-day wedding, it was a three-day wedding,” he shared. “I did the welcome party, then I did the wedding and then I did the brunch on the Sunday, which was the most awkward part of it all because everything that had gone on on the actual wedding night was discussed amongst all the guests the next morning.”

But he also wanted to explain what he means by “inappropriate. “Why I’m here is to talk about the word ‘inappropriate’ — what we deem inappropriate. You’re talking to probably one of the most inappropriate people in the world. If you ever followed me on Instagram you’ll understand that,” he continued. “There was … no slut-dropping. There was no black cat PVC catsuits. There was no Spice Girl action.”

There was an issue that he saw, though. “It was the timing.”

“Basically Marc Anthony was performing on stage. He then called Brooklyn onto stage. Brooklyn went onto the stage, where the next bit, everyone is expecting it to be Nicola to go up and do the first dance. Marc Anthony asks the most beautifulest [sic] woman in the room to come to the stage. And then he says ‘Victoria, come to the stage,’” he continued. “Victoria is by the stage, she goes onto the stage. And of course at that point, Brooklyn is, like, suddenly literally devastated because he thought he was going to do his first dance with his wife. Then Nicola leaves the room, crying her eyes out. Brooklyn’s stuck there on stage and then they do this dance and Marc Anthony’s like, ‘Put your hands on your mother’s hips.’”

According to the DJ, the guests definitely noticed the tension. “The whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room. I’ve done an awful, awful lot of Beckham parties in the past. They are a very dance-y, close-knit family,” he added. “They love to dance, right? So what we deem as inappropriate is not how Brooklyn feels. It’s all about how Brooklyn feels. If he felt it was inappropriate and awkward, then it was inappropriate and awkward.”

Fat Tony does feel for everyone in the situation. “I think what we’re all missing here is the fact that the parents have lost their child — their son — and a son’s lost his parents and the rest of his family.”

Brooklyn recently called out his parents on his Instagram Stories and told his version of events. “Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he wrote in part. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.”

In the lengthy posts, he claimed, among many things, that both his mother and father were trying to come between him and Peltz. Billboard previously reached out to Victoria and David Beckham for comment.
