A Career-Spanning Setlist
The night was a masterclass in nostalgia blended with modern maturity. Duff kicked off the set with “Wake Up” and “So Yesterday,” immediately transporting the audience back to the early 2000s. The career-spanning setlist included fan favorites like “Fly,” “Beat of My Heart,” and “Metamorphosis,” all delivered with a stripped-back production that allowed for candid crowd interaction.
Highlights of the evening included:
Intimate New Music: A disco-lit sequence for her latest single, “Roommates,” taken from her forthcoming album luck… or something, arriving February 20.
Encore Reintroduction: The encore featured the live debut of “Mature,” a track that has already garnered critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and Vogue as a self-assured reintroduction to her sound.
Full-Circle Finale: The night closed with a celebratory performance of “What Dreams Are Made Of,” complete with a confetti-filled key change that bridged the gap between her Disney roots and her current creative evolution.
“Beyond My Imagination”
Reflecting on her return, Duff told the emotional crowd: “When we started rehearsing, this felt so far away and now it’s real and way beyond my imagination. It’s so amazing to get to play old songs and see you all again, and then share songs from luck… or something.”
The “Small Rooms, Big Nerves” run continues this month with highly exclusive stops at HISTORY in Toronto (Jan 24), the Brooklyn Paramount in New York (Jan 27), and The Wiltern in Los Angeles (Jan 29). These intimate dates serve as a precursor to the full album launch next month.
