The multi-hyphenate’s sixth studio album arrives February 2026

Hilary Duff has often been heralded as the shining example of a young star who made it to adulthood seemingly unscathed. Now, she is unpacking that notion on her sixth studio album Luck… or Something. Duff announced the album in an Instagram post following a campaign of pink posters that appeared in London, Paris, and Tokyo teasing the album title in a nod to the singer’s 2005 Top 40 hit “Wake Up.” Luck… or Something marks the multi-hyphenate’s first album in more than 10 years and arrives Feb. 20, 2026.

“I am often asked how I still have my head on straight after growing up in this industry,” Duff says in a statement. “The album title is my way of answering that question. It’s luck, but there’s also a lot of weight in the ‘…or something’. Many of the things I’ve been through along the way are held there, and I feel like ultimately that’s what’s shaped me.”

The album announcement comes just weeks after Duff’s official return to music with the single “Mature.” On the song, she takes a pop-rock jaunt through the past as she sings to a younger version of herself about past romantic excursions. Revisiting the earlier days seems to be a common thread for Luck… or Something. In a behind-the-scenes video for the “Mature” visuals, Duff explained the symbolic significance of the butterfly shot at the end of the video: “The butterfly is a nod to my first album Metamorphosis… changing and finding yourself… growth and rebirth, just the journey,” she said.

Luck… or Something and “Mature” are Duff’s first releases since 2015’s Breathe In. Breathe Out., which was produced by her now-husband Matthew Koma. (Koma also co-wrote “Mature.”) Earlier this year, the singer announced she had signed to Atlantic Records in a move that signified she would be making music once again. Now, the star is hitting the ground running.

Last week, Duff announced her return to the stage with the Small Rooms, Big Nerves tour. Starting in January, Duff will play small shows in London, Toronto, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles ahead of the release of Luck… or Something. But there seems to be more in store for Duff’s live slate. After she immediately sold out the Small Rooms, Big Nerves dates, the singer teased that “there’s going to be so many more live opportunities and moments to come,” in an Instagram video.
