“I said hey”: 4 Non Blondes to return with first UK gig 30 years

Linda Perry-led band 4 Non Blondes have announced that they will be returning to the UK for their first gig in 30 years. Find all the details below.

The band formed in the Bay Area in 1989, and went on to reach global fame with their debut album, ‘Bigger, Better, Faster, More!’. That record spent more than a year on the Billboard 200 after its release in 1992, going platinum and containing the hit single ‘What’s Up?’.

They would go on to disband in 1994, and announced last year that they’d be reuniting for a string of triumphant shows and festivals across the US.

Now, 4 Non Blondes have confirmed a one-off gig on this side of the pond, and will be heading over to London for their first UK gig in three decades.

The show will take place at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in the capital on June 24, and comes ahead of new music on the way from the band.

“I put my feelers out into the universe,” said Perry about the reunion. “Playing some songs with 4 Non Blondes just seemed like a fun thing to do, in a way it hadn’t before now. I’ve been behind the scenes for far too long. I want to step out to be the artist I am. I’m just open to all the possibilities that I’ve created around me. I manifest things all the time.”

She added that while the first rehearsal felt “awkward at first”, they quickly found their footing again and proved promising enough to start entertaining new material.

“[We decided to write] a bunch of new songs, revisit some old ones, and bam, we have an album,” she said, teasing that the follow-up to ‘Bigger, Better, Faster, More!’ would be arriving later in 2026.

“It’s really that simple. They’re all phenomenal players and now they get a chance to show that. I couldn’t ask for a better band to play these songs,” the singer added.

Tickets for the UK show go on sale next Friday (March 27) at 10am GMT, and pre-sale options kick off from Wednesday March 25. Visit here for tickets and more information.

Speaking at the start of 2025, Perry was asked why she felt like it was the right time for the band to make a comeback. “It’s not but feels right in my head and my heart. I’ve been kind of putting that energy out, because I want 2025 to be my year.

“I want to own this year because I feel like I’ve been planting seeds all over the place and I’m watching my little trees grow.”

Since 4 Non Blondes disbanded in 1994, Perry has gone on to have a hugely successful career as a songwriter, producer and label owner – with contributions on platinum-certified tracks including Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful,’ Gwen Stefani’s ‘What You Waiting For?’ and P!nk’s ‘Get the Party Started.’

As well as reforming the band – back with co-founding bassist Christa Hillhouse, and members of the original touring band drummer Dawn Richardson and guitarist Roger Rocha – Perry is set to release a solo album later this year, too. Titled ‘Let It Die Here’, the new record is due for release on May 8.

Huge names to have covered the hit 4 Non Blondes track ‘What’s Up?’ have included Dolly Parton and Lady Gaga.
