Inside Post Malone’s New Bud Light Super Bowl Commercial: ‘I’m Surprised They Keep Having Me Back’

It’s no secret Post Malone loves a good Bud Light – and that he loves enjoying one with his buds, including Shane Gillis and Peyton Manning.

This year, for his fifth time, Post once again stars in Bud Light’s Super Bowl commercial. And the new ad reveals just how far Post will go to enjoy a good beer.

Joined by his pals, comedian Gillis and football Hall of Famer Manning, the trio naturally get up to no good in the spot. “I’m just surprised they keep having me back on account of my behavior on set,” Post tells Billboard with a laugh, speaking from the set months prior. “I’m way too much fun.”

As he hopped on Zoom, Post shared that he was “somewhere in California” surrounded by “a lot of beautiful olives.” A natural fit to set the scene for the commercial, which takes place at a wedding where something goes awry. As a vendor accidentally lets a keg of Bud Light roll down the mountainside, Post and his pals do whatever it takes to get it back.

“I’m definitely the fastest,” says Post. “I’m for certain the youngest. I’d like to think that I’m still spry. I crack a lot. But I’m really explosive out of the gate…they both have athletic builds, but I really think what makes me an outlier in this situation is just my explosiveness.”

Post himself has only been to two weddings, his father and stepmother’s and close friend and collaborator Louis Bell’s. Aside from a keg of Bud, he says a good wedding requires just one thing: “True love. Isn’t that a sweet answer?”

To coincide with the commercial, Bud Light (which is the official beer sponsor of the NFL) is offering a nationwide $60 keg rebate for fans 21+.

Come Super Bowl weekend, fans will have an opportunity to see Post off their TV screens as well, as the superstar will perform an intimate concert in Fort Mason: Bud Light Presents Post Malone & Buddies on Feb. 6. As Posty previously teased to Billboard of the set, “We’ve been working very, very diligently on new music. And we have 45 songs. It’s just a matter of finishing said songs. And the schedule has been so very busy. So we’re working and working, but there will be new music by then…Allegedly.”
