London’s Cinema at Selfridges was filled with emotion today as Prime Video hosted an exclusive screening for the six-part docuseries, Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix. Attended by friends and family, the event offered a first look at Nelson’s most vulnerable chapter yet: her high-stakes journey into motherhood and the truth behind her departure from one of the world’s biggest girl groups.

A Journey of Perspective

The series, launching Friday, February 13th, chronicles Nelson’s pregnancy with twins, Story and Ocean, which was complicated by Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Reflecting on the shift in her priorities, Jesy told host Demi Doyle: “The shit I used to care about and worry about just seems so insignificant to me now. It’s so important to me for everyone to see this.”

Sharing such personal trauma wasn’t an easy decision. “I think a lot of people would maybe choose to not share this,” she admitted, “but for me, when you go through something like this in your life, it puts everything into perspective.”

Breaking the Silence on Little Mix

Beyond motherhood, the documentary sees Nelson finally addressing her 2020 exit from Little Mix. “I go into the reason why I left… which I’ve never, ever spoken about,” she revealed. “There’s been a constant narrative that’s been written about me—I believe it gave a false narrative of why I left. This was my turn to say this is my truth.” She added poignantly, “I also just really hope that it gets put to bed after this, because I feel like I’ve been carrying that weight for a really long time.”

Resilience and Hope

The event also included the announcement of a follow-up special covering her twins’ Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) diagnosis. Regarding her co-parenting relationship with Zion, Jesy was characteristically honest: “It’s been tough, I’m not going to bullshit… But we’re getting on with it, and our girls are our focus.”

Ultimately, Nelson hopes her story serves as a beacon for others. “I just really hope that when people watch it… you have to know that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. It will get better.”
