Jon Bon Jovi abruptly ends New York City concert due to illness

Jon Bon Jovi was forced to cut short Bon Jovi’s concert in New York City on Thursday night.

The rocker performed with his band at Madison Square Garden as part of the Bon Jovi Forever Tour.

But after singing his 1986 hit, Livin’ on a Prayer, Jon announced that he wasn’t feeling well.

“I’m sorry, I’m hurt and you’re not getting the best of me,” he told the crowd, according to Page Six. “Don’t throw away your ticket stubs, I’m gonna figure something out, OK? Just hold onto it, we’ll figure out how to reschedule. But I’m gonna have to cool it for the night.”

A short time later, a representative for the 64-year-old confirmed that he had been battling a sinus infection.

“The Bon Jovi concert at Madison Square Garden ended after 90 mins tonight,” they told the outlet. “Jon Bon Jovi spoke from stage and told fans he has been battling a sinus infection, which led to the show’s early ending. As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band.”

It’s unclear whether Jon will return for the eighth and final show of the MSG residency, scheduled for Sunday night.

The Bon Jovi Forever Tour marks the first time the You Give Love a Bad Name hitmakers have gone on the road since the Bon Jovi 2022 Tour.

In February 2024, Jon revealed he had undergone vocal cord surgery two years earlier and had committed to extensive rehabilitation to regain his singing voice.

Speaking to People last month, the music superstar declared that he had “fully recovered”.

“It was longer than I’d ever expected, but it had to be right. We never lost faith,” he reflected.
