The score for the forthcoming Grand Theft Auto VI will feature an original score by French electronic titans Justice.
A press release with the news confirms the significant internet buzz that selections from the score heard in August’s Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, along with other big game announcements, were produced by the duo.
In tandem with the news, Justice has released a killer new single called “Flower in a Hurricane” featuring fellow Grammy-winners Tame Impala and SZA, along with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. (This latter band recently released its own electronic album Alien Metal.) The new song — which has an opening riff vaguely reminiscent of Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothing” — reunites Justice with Tame Impala, who delivered the vocals for their Grammy-winning, Billboard No. 1 hit “Neverender.”
With the news, the Justice joins a mighty list of GTA VI contributors. In September, GTA creator Rockstar Games announced that the soundtrack will include 34 new songs by artists including Yung Lean feat. Future and Metro Boomin contributing a song titled “That’s It,” a song called “Rhyno” performed by Travis Scott and produced by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Étienne de Crécy together contributing a song called “Sexy Magic.” The soundtrack also incluces “The Last Thing You Need” by Morgan Wallen, “Macacoa 2000” by Rauw Alejandro and “Bright Lights, Big City” by Keith Richards.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released by Rockstar Games on Nov. 19. Listen to “Flower in a Hurricane” below.
