Justin and Hailey Bieber have announced the birth of their first child, Jack Blues Bieber.
The couple, who revealed the pregnancy in May, shared a photo of the baby’s foot on social media, with Justin writing in the caption, “Welcome home,” along with the baby’s name and an emoji of a bear. The child’s birth date was not provided.
Justin’s mother Pattie Mallette added in a tweet, “CONGRATULATIONS @justinbieber & Hailey. I LOVE YOU FOREVER BABY JACK!!”
The Biebers, who married in 2018, first announced they were expecting in May with a sweet video of the couple at Hailey’s maternity shoot. At the time, Hailey’s reps confirmed to People that she was already six months pregnant.
That news came in the wake of a flurry of pregnancy rumors that Hailey has been at the center of for the previous months. Last October, she addressed the recurring online conversation in an interview with GQ. “Recently, everybody was like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s pregnant,’ and that’s happened to me multiple times before,” she said. “There is something that’s disheartening about, ‘Damn, I can’t be bloated one time and not be pregnant?’”
Hailey added, “When there comes a day that that is true, you— you, as in the internet — will be the last to know.” That day has only just arrived, but she has been thinking about it for a while, describing it to GQ as “something that I look forward to. It’s also such a private, intimate thing. It’s something that’s going to come when it comes … Let me do what I want to do with my body and you guys can do what you want to do with your body — and let’s just let it be that.”
Justin previously said in an December 2020 interview with Ellen DeGeneres (via People), “I am going to have as many [babies] as Hailey is wishing to push out. I’d love to have myself a little tribe. But, yeah, it’s her body and whatever she wants to do. … I think she wants to have a few.”
