Karol G & Greg Gonzalez’s ‘Después De Ti’ Makes Top 10 Debut on Hot Latin Songs Following Coachella Set: ‘The Song Felt Like Medicine’

Karol G teams with Cigarettes After Sex’s Greg Gonzalez for “Después De Ti,” their first collab which debuts at No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and No. 1 on Hot Latin Pop Songs charts (dated May 9). The song was unveiled during Karol’s Weekend 1 Coachella headlining performance and marks Karol’s 32nd top 10 on Hot Latin Songs and González’s first appearance as a solo artist on any Billboard chart.

“When Karol first showed me “Después de Ti’ I was struck by the heartbreak and the beauty of it, the song felt like medicine,” Gonzalez tells Billboard. “I’ve talked with fans since the song came out and know it feels the same way now to so many people. It’s wonderful to see…”

“Después De Ti’s” debut on Hot Latin Songs (which blends streaming, airplay and sales data) is driven almost entirely by streams. The ballad amassed 3.8 million official streams in the United States during the tracking week ending April 30, according to Luminate, earning the song a No. 6 entry on the Latin Streaming Songs chart. In terms of sales, the song sold 1,000 downloads, securing a No. 1 debut on Latin Digital Song Sales.

While Karol collects her 32nd top 10 on Hot Latin Songs (still the second-most top 10s among women behind Shakira’s 37), Gonzalez earns his first entry and top 10 on any chart as a soloist. Cigarettes After Sex, of which Gonzalez is a member, got its last top 10 with its third studio album, X’s, which debuted at No. 6 on the Top Latin Albums chart and at No. 5 on the Vinyl Albums chart in July 2024.

“Después de Ti” also opens at No. 1 on Hot Latin Pop Songs —Karol’s third chart-topper and Gonzalez’s first.

On Hot Latin Songs, the collab joins three other Karol G songs. “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” holds at No. 5 for a second week (after dominating for 14 consecutive weeks in 2024), the No. 3-peaking “Latina Foreva,” that moves 10-9, and “Ivonny Bonita” which re-enters at No. 38.

Elsewhere, “Después de Ti” arrives at No. 96 on the overall Billboard Hot 100, Gonzalez’s first visit there overall.
