Their ninth studio LP was set to land on Friday July 17 but the band have now announced to their fans that it has been pushed back until September 4.

They wrote: “We’ve had the album back on the operating table for a few final adjustments. We couldn’t send it out into the world without getting everything just right, albums are forever! Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait.”

The band have also shared the latest taster from the record, ‘Superpowers’ which you can listen to below. Adolescence star Stephen Graham can also be seen reciting the lyrics from the song with Serge Pizzorno in a separate video, which you can also view below.

Speaking about working with Graham, Pizzorno said: “Audition tapes have always fascinated me. There’s something incredible about seeing a performance in its rawest form a behind the scenes glimpse into the craft of acting. I wanted to bring that feeling to life by turning the song’s lyrics into a script and presenting it as an audition tape.

“Getting to work with @stephengraham1973 one of Britain’s greatest actors, was a true honour. Watching him take the songs into a completely new space brought a whole new depth and meaning to the lyrics.”

Of the new track he added: “I remember hearing ‘Doggy Style’ by Snoop (Dogg) in my mate’s XR2, one of those tracks that makes you go ‘what?’ because you’ve never heard anything quite like it.

“When we recorded ‘Superpowers’ it was the first time I really felt like the sound that I could hear in my head, was what came out of the speakers.”

Elsewhere, Pizzorno recently told NME the new album is “is all that’s great about Kasabian. It’s got Kasabian DNA running through it. It’s all the things that we’ve done in the past.”

Speaking about the track ‘Nothing Better Than This’, he added: “I just wanted to make something with that gnarly bass and you’d instantly know in four seconds, ‘That sounds like Kasabian’. I saw this meme of four upside-down bats that looked like goths dancing in a club. I wanted to make a song that they could dance to, so it’s got a weird goth edge to it.”

Meanwhile, Kasabian are due to play their biggest London headline show to date to 45,000 fans at Finsbury Park on July 4, and will also be the first ever Thursday night headliner at Leeds Festival this August.

They will also peform at Boardmasters, TRNSMT, Victorious Festival, Mad Cool, and more. Visit here for tickets and more information.
