Kate Hudson was able to breathe a “sigh of relief” after releasing her debut album.
The 45-year-old actress had been on screen in Hollywood for decades before she switched gears in 2023 for the launch of her record ‘Glorious’ and explained that the new venture had put her where she was meant to be.
She told US TV show ‘Extra’: “After I put this album out, there was just this sigh of relief like, ‘Yeah, I’m right where I’m supposed to be. Creatively. “Creatively where I feel creatively for myself feels really peaceful!”
The ‘Almost Famous’ star – who has son Ryder, 20, with ex-husband Chris Robinson – is now engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa and the pair worked together on the project, despite her initial trepidations.
Kate – who has daughter Rani, six, with Danny – said:” You have moments when your like, ‘Is it healthy to work with your partner?’ But we figured it out and Danny is so talented. I almost feel like I’d be a fool to not work with him in this capacity. I feel so lucky, and we write really well together. That, we really do well together. We do a lot well together!”
The actress previously revealed how she had been wanting to release an album more than a decade ago, but even at that time had been warned that she was “too old” by those in the music industry.
She told ‘CBS Mornings’: ” “There was someone who said to me, and it kind of jarred me a little, it was in my early 30s and they basically said, ‘It’s done. Past. You’re too old.’
“And for me it wasn’t just about being a performer, it was about wanting to write music.
“So it kind of resonated for a bit, and then I was like, ‘Nah, (forget) you. No – no-one tells me what to do!’”
