Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Katie Melua is marking a major career milestone with the announcement of a 20th Anniversary Reissue of her multi-platinum selling second album, Piece By Piece. To celebrate, Melua has today released the stunning, previously unheard demo, “Half Full (Early Demo).”

The full expanded reissue, titled Piece By Piece (20th Anniversary Remaster), is set for release on December 5th via BMG and features a wealth of bonus material, including b-sides, live performances, and unreleased demo recordings from Melua’s personal archive. The 22-track collection has been remastered at London’s Metropolis Studios, offering fans a fresh opportunity to rediscover the album that solidified Melua’s status as one of the UK’s most successful young artists at just 21 years old.

The newly released track, “Half Full (Early Demo),” is a beautiful, intimate song that had never been heard or performed live before. It was remastered specifically for the reissue from Melua’s personal collection, giving listeners a candid glimpse into her creative process two decades ago.

Piece By Piece was a defining release for the artist, selling multi-platinum across Europe and featuring international classic hits, most notably “Nine Million Bicycles.” The album effortlessly blends folk, blues, pop, and jazz influences across its mature and emotionally rich songs.

Reflecting on the album, Katie Melua shared her excitement: “Piece by Piece was where I really began to understand who I was as an artist. It marked the moment I started truly creating and finding the confidence to express myself.” She added that the bonus material “reminds me just how much love and craft went into every note.”

The 20th Anniversary Remaster will be available as a Limited-Edition Double Vinyl LP and a 2CD album.
