Katy Perry has shared that Justin Trudeau’s love has “transformed” her following a “tough year”.
Discussing her romance with the former Prime Minister of Canada on the Unfamous podcast, the singer became emotional as she revealed how his love has changed her life.
“I have love in my life now that’s transformed me,” she gushed.
“You think that when The Beatles say ‘all you need is love’ it’s a cliche, but cliches are cliches for a reason.”
Perry also revealed that therapy and transcendental meditation have played their part following her “tough year”, which saw her nine-year relationship with actor Orlando Bloom come to an end.
Perry and Trudeau have been flaunting their romance in recent months and were seen smooching on a picnic date in Santa Barbara, California, over the weekend.
On Saturday, they picked up lunch in Perry’s vintage Moke before heading to a picturesque park to relax and unwind on a checked blanket.
The outing came just days after the Firework singer hailed Trudeau as the “love of my life”.
Perry, who was previously married to troubled TV personality Russell Brand, made her red carpet debut with Trudeau at the New York City premiere of the Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour concert film on 8 June.
“I am very in love,” Perry told People magazine.
“Because I’m a little bit like a rainbow kite. I fly super high and like, you know, touch the veil, cosmos, and sometimes I need to be anchored. So, to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now.”
