Katy Perry tosses credit card into Trevi Fountain for ‘good luck’

Katy Perry tosses credit card into Trevi Fountain for ‘good luck’

Katy Perry tossed her credit card into the Trevi Fountain amid a trip to Rome, Italy over the weekend.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the pop star posted a carousel of snaps showing her posing in front of several buildings in The Eternal City.

“Just Rome’ing around,” she wrote in the caption.

And in one short video, Katy is seen throwing her credit card in the water of the famous fountain.

“Y’all, I told you in Save as Draft that I don’t f**k with change,” she began, referencing a lyric from her 2017 song. “But I feel like I need to put something in the Trevi Fountain for good luck.”

Katy, who was incognito in glasses and a hoodie, allowed her credit card to sit in the water for a few seconds before pulling it out as it began to float away.

Each day, thousands of people throw coins into the Trevi Fountain, with many believing that the tradition will either make their wishes come true or ensure a return to Rome in the future.

Katy performed a private concert at La Nuvola convention centre on Saturday evening.

The 41-year-old’s trip to Europe comes days after Australian actress Ruby Rose went public with her claim that the Firework singer sexually assaulted her at a nightclub in Melbourne when she was in her early twenties.

Last Wednesday, a spokesperson for Victoria Police confirmed officers were investigating the alleged incident after Ruby, 40, filed a report.

Denying the allegation, a representative for Katy said in a statement, “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.

“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
