Keith Urban announces new yacht rock album Flow State

Grammy Award-winning global superstar Keith Urban has officially announced his highly anticipated thirteenth studio album, Flow State. Scheduled for release on 12 June 2026 via MCA, the upcoming record sees the legendary guitarist and singer-songwriter trade his signature contemporary country soundscapes for the smooth, laid-back aesthetics of classic yacht rock. The album is designed to serve as a breezy, easygoing seaside soundtrack, breathing fresh sonic life into timeless melodies as the summer season approaches.

Co-produced alongside longtime collaborator Dann Huff and recorded at Urban’s private Nashville studio, “The Sound,” the eleven-track collection blends carefully selected cover versions with a brand-new original composition. The tracklist features high-profile collaborative performances with a lineup of legendary musical icons, including Michael McDonald, John Mayer, and acclaimed country group Little Big Town. Listeners can expect smooth, guitar-driven reinterpretations of celebrated hits such as “Baby Come Back,” “Just the Two of Us,” and “Magnet and Steel,” alongside a specialized rendition of the Seals and Crofts relaxation anthem, “Summer Breeze.”

To celebrate the album’s official announcement, Urban has treated fans to a double-track digital release. Music lovers can now stream the record’s sole original number, “We Go Back,” which features the distinctive, soulful vocal styling of Michael McDonald, alongside Urban’s complete studio rendition of “Summer Breeze.” Urban commented that the smooth genre originally emerged as a comforting, optimistic antidote to the social stresses of its era, adding that he hopes the new recordings offer listeners a sense of comfort and collective harmony.

The ambitious crossover project follows the massive success of his previous studio album, High, and the subsequent conclusion of his extensive “High and Alive World Tour” late last year. Inducted into both the Grand Ole Opry and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Urban has generated over eleven billion global streams across his illustrious career. Official digital pre-orders and pre-save links for Flow State are now open to the public through the artist’s website.
