Keith Urban has expressed his gratitude to his longtime manager, Gary Borman, following his retirement.

On Sunday, the Borman Entertainment founder announced that he will be shuttering his company after 50 years of supporting artists.

Following the news, Urban released a statement to Variety in which he thanked Borman for his support over the past 25 years.

“I’m so grateful to Gary (and my entire Borman Nashville family) for the most incredible and successful time together,” he commented. “It was extraordinary – what we were able to accomplish together – and I’ll forever be grateful for the creative and collaborative spirit we were all a part of for so long. I wish Gary and everyone at Borman Entertainment the very best journey ahead and look forward to what the future holds for all of us.”

According to editors at the outlet, Urban plans to move to a new management team.

Over the course of his career, Borman has worked with music icons like the Bee Gees, James Taylor, Faith Hill, and the Rolling Stones.

Reflecting on his decision to slow down, the manager noted that he has many wonderful memories from his time in the entertainment industry.

“To say I’ve been lucky to have spent my time doing what I’ve loved, would be an understatement. I’ve worked side by side with some of the most gifted artists,” he praised. “I’m grateful beyond words to all the teachers, artists, colleagues, collaborators, supporters, Lady Luck, as well as the adversaries and turbulent moments that sharpened his resolve and taught him how to manage emotion and life.”

Next up, Urban – who finalised his divorce from Nicole Kidman in January – will perform a concert in the Bahamas on 2 March.
