Kelly Osbourne calls out Dee Snider over Ozzy Osbourne songwriting comments

Kelly Osbourne has called out Dee Snider over his claims about Ozzy Osbourne’s songwriting.

The TV personality issued a scathing takedown of the Twisted Sister frontman after he claimed on X that Ozzy always had other people, including his bassists Bob Daisley and Geezer Butler, write his lyrics.

He also alleged that he knows “the truth behind the scenes” and cryptically added that Ozzy’s widow Sharon Osbourne “doesn’t like to share”.

Ozzy and Sharon’s daughter Kelly took to her Instagram Stories on Friday to defend her late father’s legacy.

“My father’s legacy as a musician, songwriter, singer and bandleader speaks for itself,” she wrote. “His friends, those who worked with him, those who love him, and millions of fans around the world that still continue to buy his records know exactly what he meant what he contributed and what he leaves behind. His legacy will live on eternally.”

The 41-year-old then issued a lengthy statement in which she compared her father’s six-decade career to Snider’s, who she described as “spectacularly classless” and a “delusional man with a vendetta” against Ozzy.

Kelly went on to question whether Snider was trying to belittle the Crazy Train singer to try and stay relevant after “the music industry moved on from Snider’s commercial peak decades ago”.

“It only reminds everyone of the enormous difference between their legacies and further proves just how irrelevant Snider is to the music industry and society as a whole,” she concluded. “However I would like to thank you Dee Snider for allowing the world to see how truly desperate he really is!”

Addressing Kelly’s response, Snider told his X followers that he has “nothing but love for Ozzy”.

“He was always lovely to me. @BlackSabbath changed my life!” he stated. “As a songwriter I can be a little touchy about credit and royalties.”

Ozzy died in July 2025 at the age of 76.
