Kurt Vile has signed a co-publishing deal with Third Side Music, the company announced, expanding on the publisher’s relationship with the singer-songwriter.
Since 2015, Third Side has administered part of Vile’s catalog, but under the new co-publishing agreement, the company will represent the entirety of his solo catalog and songs by Kurt Vile and the Violators. The publisher will also administer Vile’s future works, starting with his most recent album, Philadelphia’s Been Good to Me, which was released in May.
“Kurt is one of the real ones,” Jeff Waye, Third Side Music COO and co-founder, said in a statement. “An incredible singer-songwriter who can turn seemingly effortless phrases into deep in your head hooks, all backed by low-key trips to shredsville. All around good dude. Back in 2015, we started working together on the release of B’lieve I’m Goin Down…, and I’m stoked to now include the prior back catalog into the work, and also be in the long-term KV business. We grindin’.”
Vile’s 2015 album B’lieve I’m Goin Down… peaked at No. 40 on the Billboard 200 and landed at No. 10 on Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums chart. His recent single “Chance to Bleed,” off Philadelphia’s Been Good to Me, recently ranked at No. 40 on Billboard’s Staff Picks for the Best Songs of 2026 So Far list.
In 2021, Vile signed with Universal Music Group’s Verve Records, marking the singer’s major-label debut after spending the majority of his career at Matador Records.
Third Side has recently been expanding on its long-term partnerships. This includes July’s announcement that the publishing company created a joint venture, Animal Talk Publishing, with longtime client Sofi Tukker.
