Kylie Minogue has dropped a new single, “Lights Camera Action.” The high-energy dance floor track was produced by Lewis Thompson and co-written by Kylie, Thompson, and Ina Wroldsen. Minogue will debut a music video for the song, directed by Sophie Muller and shot in Budapest, later today.
The single is accompanied by several remixes, including versions by Confidence Man, Zach Witness, and Jaconda.
“Lights Camera Action” is the first listen from Minogue’s new album, Tension II, out Oct. 18 via Mushroom Music. The LP is a sequel to Minogue’s 2023 album Tension. The 13-track album will include the previously released collaborations “Edge of Saturday Night” with the Blessed Madonna, “My Oh My” with Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo, “Midnight Ride” with Orville Peck and Diplo, and “Dance Alone” with Sia.
To support the album, Minogue will embark on her Tension Tour 2025 next year. The world tour will kick off in Australia next February, before heading to Asia and the U.K. in May. Additional dates Europe, North America, and South America will be announced.
“I can’t wait to share beautiful and wild moments with fans all over the world, celebrating the Tension era and more,” Minogue shared in a statement. “It’s been an exhilarating ride so far and now, get ready for your close up because I will be calling Lights, Camera, Action… and there will be a whole lot of Padaming!”
Speaking ABC News in Australia earlier this week, Minogue confirmed that the tour will include “the biggest hits,” adding “I’m definitely already knowing I’m going to leave some space for some oddities.” She said she wants the shows to feel “Positive and joyous.” ”It’s something that I want people to feel from the show and from the music,” Minogue said.
She noted of the new single, It’s quite hypnotic. It’s lots of fun, and you will probably just be throwing in ‘Lights Camera Action’ to general parlance from now.”
Earlier this year, Minogue won the Grammy for Best Dance Pop Recording for her hit single “Padam Padam,” which appeared on Tension.
