A new seasonal song, Kylie Minogue’s new Amazon Music UK 2025 exclusive XMAS, is one of this week’s highest climbers, rocketing 40 places to Number 24, and one to watch heading towards the biggest chart race of the year – the Official Christmas Number 1 race – which kicks off next Friday 12 December.

Taylor Swift takes The Fate of Ophelia to a seventh week at Number 1. Can it stay at the top long enough to compete for the Christmas Number 1 crown on Friday December 19? We’ll have to wait and see.

Elsewhere, HAVEN. ft. Kaitlin Aragon’s I Run continues its rise, up 16 to a new peak (21). With the fifth season of Stranger Things hitting our screens last week, Djo, actor Joe Keery who plays Steve Harrington in the show, finds End of Beginning back in the Top 40 (34). Moreover, Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill, made popular by the show in Season 4, also sees a chart resurgence (37).

The festivities are well underway with a host of Christmas classics returning to the Top 10 and wider Top 40, lead by WHAM!’s Last Christmas (3) and Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You (4), while Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree (6), Underneath the Tree from Kelly Clarkson (9) and Ariana Grande with Santa Tell Me (10) all enter the Top 10.

Other new festive entries inside the Top 40 include Laufey’s Winter Wonderland (18), which also earns its highest position yet, Elton John’s Step Into Christmas (20), Band Aid’s 1984 single Do They Know It’s Christmas? (22), Andy Williams’ It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (23), Paul McCartney’s Wonderful Christmastime (25) and The Ronettes’ Sleigh Ride (28).

Further down, we find Michael Bublé’s It’s Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas (29) and Holly Jolly Christmas (38), Darlene Love’s Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) (31) and Sia’s modern Christmas classic, Snowman (32).

Feliz Navidad, the 50+ year-old Christmas song that cracked the UK Top 20 for the first time in 2024, is also experiencing a viral moment right now with the ‘Police nabbed me dad!’ scouse accent social media trend (33).

And finally, John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Happy Xmas (War Is Over) (35), Justin Bieber’s Mistletoe (36) and Chris Rea’s Driving Home For Christmas (40) round out the Top 40 singles.
