Lady Gaga plans to release her long-trailed seventh album in February 2025, preceded by a single next month. The campaign for the record, known among fans (and now Gaga herself) as LG7, is kicking off in tandem with promotion for Joker: Folie à Deux, in which she stars as Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix. A note on Instagram yesterday (September 4) revealed the October release of the first single, before a Vogue profile, published today, teased the February release of the Chromatica follow-up. She is also working on a separate surprise project, Vogue noted.
She remains tight-lipped about the project itself, but told Vogue’s Jonathan Van Meter, “There’s a lot of pain associated with this adventure, and when I start to explore that pain it can bring out another side to my artistry. When I’m here at this studio, I’m relaxed and I am able to face my demons and what’s remarkable is…that’s the music. I’m able to hear it back.” She added that Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, and Kesha have been on her stereo recently.
