Taking the stage just as the sun began to set, Capaldi launched his set with hit tracks “Hollywood,” “Grace,” and the upbeat “Heavenly Kind of State of Mind.” He kept the audience captivated through an emotional, hit-heavy setlist that included his breakout debut single “Bruises,” alongside fan favorites like “Pointless” and “Before You Go.”
Following a surprise guest appearance by Sam Fender during his Saturday night show, Capaldi treated Sunday’s crowd to another high-profile collaboration. He introduced The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard, citing the band’s 2006 Reading Festival performance as a definitive inspiration for his own musical journey. The duo then performed a live acoustic duet of The Kooks’ iconic indie-pop anthem “Naive,” prompting a massive stadium-wide singalong with the 65,000-strong audience.
The single-day festival featured a packed supporting lineup across multiple stages, curated to showcase a mix of established international stars and rising talent. Pop star Conan Gray warmed up the main stage after being personally requested by Capaldi for the tour, delivering tracks from his ongoing world tour. The billing also featured performances from Alessi Rose, British singer-songwriter Absolutely, and Jacob Alon, who dedicated an acoustic performance to Capaldi on the main stage.
Capaldi concluded the historic weekend residency by taking to the piano for a quiet rendition of “The Day That I Die,” before leading into “Hold Me While You Wait” and “Forget Me.” He closed out the night with a triumphant encore performance of his global number-one single, “Someone You Loved.” Before leaving the stage, Capaldi announced to the crowd that he will be stepping away to record his highly anticipated third studio album.
