Lewis Capaldi teases new album at Sziget Festival 2026

In partnership with Sziget Festival

Lewis Capaldi has shared an update on his plans for a third album.

The Scottish singer was appearing on the main stage at Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary yesterday (August 13), where he performed immediately before headliners Florence + the Machine.

He noted that this was his third appearance at the festival – following shows in 2018 and 2022 – and expressed his pleasure at maintaining a “lovely relationship” with Sziget. “All summer I’ve been saying, ‘When are we going to play Sziget?’” he explained. “And here we are!”

At the end of the set, Capaldi teased the follow-up to his previous two albums, 2019’s ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’ and 2023’s ‘Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent’.

“Thank you for continuously showing up and watching us when we come to this festival – it really means the world,” he said. “I’m gonna go away after… We’ve got six more gigs this summer, and then I’m gonna go away and make a new album for everybody – if everybody’s interested?”

When this was received with a cheer, he continued: “I promise I’ll be back as soon as I possibly fucking can be.”

Elsewhere in the performance, which drew a huge audience, he reflected on the “mental breakdown” he had suffered and overcome since his last Sziget performance: “Sad times – very sad times. But I feel good now! So let’s all just fucking have a nice, lovely time with each other.”

Capaldi joked that he was distracted by the bungee jumpers leaping from a platform opposite the stage, encouraging the audience to chant before someone took the plunge. “Don’t jump!” he laughed as another person scaled the platform.

The 29-year-old delivered a feel-good set, despite claiming his performance amounted to “an hour of some pretty depressing music”, and included a buoyant cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain’.

Lewis Capaldi played:

‘Hollywood’
‘Grace’
‘Heavenly Kind Of State Of Mind’
‘Love The Hell Out Of You’
‘Forever’
‘Bruises’
‘Pointless’
‘Before You Go’
‘Fade’
‘The Day That I Die’
‘Hold Me While You Wait’
‘Forget Me’
‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’
‘Survive’
‘Someone You Loved’

Day three of Sziget 2026 also saw performances from Paris Paloma, Fcukers, Loyle Carner, Black Country, New Road, Parcels, Antony Szmierek and more. The festival will continue today (August 14) with a headline set from Bring Me the Horizon, plus appearances from Nia Archives, Sigrid, Rose Gray, Skepta and Peggy Gou.

Lewis Capaldi opened up about his “very public breakdown” and subsequent Tourette’s diagnosis earlier this year.

Looking back on his 2023 Glastonbury performance, which was cut short due to his tics, he told Billboard UK: “Anyone could see that I felt fucking dejected, disappointed, sad and just worthless that day. But as soon as I got offstage, I was like, ‘I’m taking a break now.’ It felt like a weight had been lifted. People saw how fucking detrimental things can get.”
