Liam Gallagher confirmed as ambassador for Manchester music charity Brighter Sound, with chance to win sold-out Adidas Spezial LG Achille SPZL trainers

Liam Gallagher has been confirmed as the ambassador for Manchester music charity Brighter Sound – and together they are offering the chance to win sold-out Adidas Spezial LG Achille SPZL trainers.

The non-profit organisation was launched 25 years ago, and works to champion new talent by creating opportunities for young people, emerging artists and future music professionals to find their way in music.

They are based in Manchester, and every year work with over 1,000 creatives – organising workshops, mentorships, live events and creative projects. Each is designed to raise the skills, connections and confidence that emerging talent need to take the next step in their career, or overcome the barriers they face when it comes to getting started.

Today (June 1), it has been confirmed that Liam Gallagher is the new ambassador and will be working with the charity to raise money.

Together, they have launched a new prize draw to win pairs of his Adidas collab Achille SPZL trainers. That design was launched during last summer’s massive ‘Oasis Live ‘25’ tour, and sold out instantly. They have not been available since, until now.

There are 40 pairs of the Japanese exclusive design of the trainers (darker brown) and 95 pairs of the regular design (light brown) up for grabs in the new price draw, and sizes range from UK size ranging from 3.5 to 12.

Fans can enter via the fundraising platform Zeffy, and tickets range from the £10 single ticket to the £25 bundle ticket which counts as three entries. You can also choose your own amount to donate, and 100 per cent of the funds will be donated to Brighter Sound.

The draw closes at 11pm on Monday 13 July, and there is no limit to how many tickets each fan can buy. Visit here to enter and for more information.

“I’m honoured to be an Ambassador for Brighter Sound and support the new generation of creatives launch their music projects,” said Liam Gallagher. “We need more help for the arts, especially for the working class.”

Kate Lowes, Director at Brighter Sound added, “It’s a real honour to be working with Liam and his team on this special prize draw, and to welcome him as an ambassador for Brighter Sound. Manchester is an incredible place for music – and Liam and Oasis are a huge part of that story.

“This partnership reflects a shared commitment to making sure that more amazing talent continues to grow from the city and find its place on the world stage.”

Earlier this year, the charity helped lead the first -ever BRITs Fringe alongside the BRIT Awards’ move to Manchester, and it worked to both showcase the city’s grassroots music scene and create opportunities for new talent.

Organisers have confirmed that the latest collaboration with Gallagher is the “first stage of a wider collaboration” the two of them have. More details about other plans are set to be released later this year.

This isn’t the first time that Liam Gallagher has got involved in helping the Manchester community. Back in 2023, he was announced as a surprise announcer on the city’s Metrolink – Greater Manchester’s integrated public transport system – to raise support for the Beyond the Music festival. The event is a change-making conference, which sheds light on issues facing grassroots venues, developing talent, and infrastructure for the city region.

The Britpop icon did the same on the transport network last year, ahead of Oasis’ homecoming five-night stint at Heaton Park.

In other Liam Gallagher news, the Oasis frontman was spotted leaving Abbey Road Studios with The Stone Roses’ John Squire last month. The two Manchester icons released their first album together, ‘Liam Gallagher John Squire’, in 2024, and now it looks like a follow-up could be on the way.

Before then, the singer got fans talking by poking fun at Suede and Manic Street Preachers – saying that they were “both shit and lack attitude, swagger and style” – and also fuelled rumours about another Oasis tour in 2027, telling Italian fans they will “without a doubt, 100 per cent” play in Rome next year.

They are set to enter the Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Fame later this year, having already been nominated in 2024 and 2025.
