Lily Allen confirms relationship with Sigmund Freud’s great-great-grandson Jonah after penning album about David Harbour split

Lily Allen has confirmed that she is in a relationship with Sigmund Freud’s great-great-grandson.

The confirmation of their relationship comes around a year after her split from Stranger Things actor David Harbour, and following her releasing the vulnerable, highly-successful album ‘West End Girl’ which shed light on the reasons behind their separation.

Last October, Allen revealed that she was dating again but did not share any details about any person she was seeing at the time. She also opened up about the things she disliked about dating apps, saying to Interview at the time that they were “depressing” and “awful, especially if you’re going through heartbreak”.

Since then, she has been seen multiple times with Jonah Freud – the great-great-grandson of Sigmund Freud.

She has now gone on to confirm a relationship with him, in a new interview with Grazia. When asked by the outlet who was the last person she texted, she quipped simply: “My boyfriend”.

The two have been seen spending time together in Paris and Rome, and also attended Paris Fashion Week together.

The confirmation of a new relationship comes just weeks after the singer discussed her return to the UK with her two daughters following the success of ‘West End Girl‘, revealing that it triggered a lot of questions.

She also opened up about the album before then, revealing that it was written and recorded in just 10 days following the breakdown of her marriage to Harbour, and insisted that it was “not a cruel album”.

She also told fans last year that when she was writing the record, she “wasn’t really thinking about it as a commercial endeavour, it was just, it was an act of desperation actually”.

The huge success of the record has so far seen her perform on Saturday Night Live and announce a largely sold-out tour. ‘West End Girl’ was given a four-star review from NME, and also landed at Number 13 on our 50 Best Albums of 2025.

Her song ‘Pussy Palace’ also made its way to Number 21 on NME’s list of the Best Songs of that year.

Allen is set to hit the road once again for a UK theatre and arena tour of her new record. Shows kick off next week with an opening night at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, and continue with dates in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and more.

There are also three nights at the London Palladium planned for next month, as well as a stop at The O2 in June. Visit here for a full list of dates, and here for remaining tickets.
