AURORA has shared her new song, ‘A Place To Call Home’, from World Of Warcraft: Midnight – check it out here.

Per a press release, the track was created alongside the music team at Blizzard Entertainment, which produces the game. It combines AURORA’s ethereal vocals with an uplifting cinematic sound that gets progressively more dramatic as the song goes on.

‘A Place To Call Home’ “explores themes of belonging and resilience within Azeroth,” and a music video that bridges AURORA’s ideas with the World Of Warcraft universe has also been shared.

The song comes a month after Sheffield metalcore heroes Malevolence shared their own World Of Warcraft anthem ‘Twelve To Zero’, which came about after Blizzard challenged the band to “capture the scale and tension of Midnight” by writing a song in just 12 hours.

As for AURORA, she’s ventured into the video game world previously and even performed a special gig with Sky: Children Of The Light in December 2022 as part of the game’s Season of AURORA, in which players could “experience characters, stories, quests, themed items and more inspired by and featuring AURORA’s music.”

More recently, AURORA has teamed up with Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers, with the pair announcing their debut album as the duo Tomora. ‘COME CLOSER’ is set to be released on April 17, and they’ve shared the singles ‘RING THE ALARM’, ‘THE THING’, ‘COME CLOSER’ and ‘SOMEWHERE ELSE’ so far.

Tomora‘s first live shows as a duo are set to come this week, too, with dates at Manchester’s New Century Hall on Wednesday (March 25) and London’s EartH Hackney the following day. They’re also set to play a series of festivals, including Coachella, Down The Rabbit Hole, and Øya in AURORA’s native Norway.

Speaking to NME in February, Rowlands explained: “We got together to make music without any idea that it would lead to anything or that we were even making an album. I just cherished this moment of freedom, creativity and making something great. We didn’t know if we were going to finish or release anything; it was just about being in the studio together.”

AURORA said, “My god, we’re having a lot of fun. It feels so much like we’re back to the roots of why it’s beautiful to make music: there’s no pressure or expectation.”

Meanwhile, the Norwegian singer-songwriter recently released her book, ‘All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend’ to mark 10 years since the release of her debut album of the same name.
