Skunk Anansie have shared a brand-new single called ‘An Artist Is An Artist’ – you can listen to it below.

The song marks Skin and co’s first music in nearly three years, following their 2022 tracks ‘Piggy’ and ‘Can’t Take You Anywhere’. It was produced and co-written by David Sitek (TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Foals).
According to a press release, ‘An Artist…’ is “the surprising first taste of what’s to come from the band in 2025”.
“[Sitek’s] name seemed to be on a lot of records that we liked,” Skin explained. “But none of the records sounded the same. The records all sounded fresh, but mainly the artists all sounded like themselves.”
Guitarist Ace added: “He basically reminded us that the process of making music didn’t need to be that complicated. When you start a band it never is, so it was a good reminder of that, and he got us to strip things right down.”
The raw and spiky new single arrives with a colourful official video – tune in above.
Skunk Anansie teased “an exciting new era” was on the horizon when announcing their 2025 UK headline tour last autumn.
“We are really excited to be getting back on tour, doing what we love the most which is playing live with fire in our belly,” Skin said in a previous statement. “This tour will be a completely brand-new production and we can’t wait to share it with the UK.”
The tour is scheduled to kick off with two shows at the Roundhouse in Camden Town, London on March 28 and 29. Find any remaining tickets here, and see the full itinerary below.
