Logan Paul has defended Bad Bunny after his brother Jake Paul called the rapper a “fake American”.

The U.S. influencer has spoken out after Jake urged fans to avoid watching the Super Bowl Halftime Show in protest at the Puerto Rican star being chosen as the performer.

Logan took to X on Monday to make it clear he did not support Jake’s comments.

“I love my brother but I don’t agree with this,” the 30-year-old wrote. “Puerto Ricans are Americans & I’m happy they were given the opportunity to showcase the talent that comes from the island.”

In a post shared before the Super Bowl kicked off on Sunday, Jake declared that he was “purposefully turning off the halftime show”.

“Let’s rally together and show big corporations they can’t just do whatever they want without consequences (which equals viewership for them),” he penned. “You are their benefit. Realise you have power.”

The influencer-turned-boxer, who lives in Puerto Rico, added, “Turn off this halftime. A fake American citizen performing who publicly hates America. I cannot support that.”

He later clarified that he did not label Bad Bunny a “fake American” because of his heritage, but due to the rapper’s vocal stance against the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“To clarify: I wasn’t calling anyone a ‘fake citizen’ because they’re from Puerto Rico,” the 29-year-old stated. “I live in Puerto Rico, and I love Puerto Rico. I have used my platform to support Puerto Rico time and time again and will always do so.”

“But if you’re publicly criticising ICE who are doing their job and openly hating on America, I’m going to speak on it,” he continued. “If you benefit from a country and the platform it gives you, but publicly disrespect it at the same time, that’s what I mean by being a fake citizen. And I agree love is more powerful than hate. Love America.”

Amid backlash following the posts, Jake returned to Twitter on Monday, writing, “Guys i love bad bunny idk what happened on my twitter last night ?? wtf.”

Bad Bunny condemned ICE during his acceptance speech after winning Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
