Lola Young discovered ‘older man’ she was dating was married with children

Lola Young has revealed she was left shocked after discovering that an “older man” she had been dating was married with children.

The 25-year-old singer has opened up about the moment she realised that a man she had been dating for several months was hiding a second life.

During an appearance at Rosalía’s concert at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday, Lola explained that she found out the truth when she overheard him speaking to his wife on the phone.

“I was seeing someone for about four months, it was getting pretty serious,” she said. “I have to confess I thought I was falling in love. He was a bit older, like an older human being. Men seem to mature a lot less quickly.”

The Messy hitmaker went on to explain that the revelation came after they spent the night together.

“We were seeing each other for four months and we got in bed and we do the deed, it was great,” she divulged. “His phone rings just as he’s about to finish and he jumps up and he’s like, ‘I’ll be back in two minutes.'”

Lola told the crowd that she then heard the conversation through a Bluetooth speaker.

“During the intercourse, the music was still playing on the Bluetooth speaker,” she shared. “He goes downstairs so he’s on the phone and his wife is asking him to bring back nappies for his kids. I hear it all on the Bluetooth speaker.”

The British singer acknowledged that she was unaware of the situation and said the experience changed her outlook on dating.

“I lost the plot a bit,” she admitted. “I was like, I can’t do this, I’m back to women.”

Lola appeared at the concert as a special guest and shared the story during an onstage confessional. She did not reveal the man’s identity or when the relationship took place.
