Lola Young plays first full show since touring break, says she “can’t wait to put new music out”

Lola Young has played her first show since taking a break for her mental health, and has told fans that she “can’t wait” to release new music.

The gig took place last night (Wednesday March 4) at the Palladium in London, and marked the first headline performance from the former NME Cover star in 2026.

It also was her first since cancelling a tour in 2025 to recover from exhaustion, after she collapsed on stage in New York City. Following the gig, Young took to Instagram to reassure fans that she was “doing OK” after being carried off stage by a medical team, but later announced that she would be pulling out of her Washington DC set at All Things Go the next day.

She was also due to embark on a UK tour in the autumn, but went on to take a break from all commitments for the “foreseeable future” to focus on her mental wellbeing.

Last night, she returned to the stage for her first headline show since then, and told fans that she was “so back” and ready to get on stage again.

Her set began with acoustic renditions of ‘Bad Game (3AM)’, ‘Spiders’, ‘Walk All Over You’, ‘Why Do I Feel Better When I Hurt You’, and ‘Sad Sob Story!’, before a full band joined her for ‘D£aler’, ‘Conceited’ and more.

She saved her huge hit ‘Messy’ for the end of the show, and told fans that she sees it as the “song that’s changed my life”, and added: “You continue to change mine every day so thank you for that.”

Check out more footage and the full setlist below.

Lola Young’s setlist was:

‘Bad Game (3AM)’
‘SPIDERS’
‘Walk All Over You’
‘why do i feel better when i hurt you?’
‘SAD SOB STORY! :)’
‘Penny Out of Nothing’
‘Conceited’
‘Post Sex Clarity’
‘d£aler’
‘Big Brown Eyes’
‘One Thing’
‘You Noticed’
‘Not Like That Anymore’
‘Messy’

While it was her first headline show of the year last night, Young did perform at the Grammys last month, and then take home her first trophy at the ceremony.

She was also one of the most nominated artists at this year’s BRIT Awards – winning Breakthrough Artist – appeared at the afterparty with Olivia Dean, and has been handpicked by Elton John to perform at his historic AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on March 15.

In a new note shared with fans, which has been posted to Reddit, she shared her gratitude for the huge milestones, and said that she was gearing up for new music.

“Six months ago everything was off for me. I knew I needed to deal with some stuff and take time out and with that came huge insecurity about my career,” she said. “I was genuinely fearful that I might lose my moment, a moment I’d spent over 10 years grafting for. So this is such a huge moment of affirmation for me.”

“[But] when things get dark and I’m not doing well, knowing that I can still come back is incredibly rewarding. More rewarding than any award will ever be,” she added. “I love you and can’t wait to put new music out and continue this journey with you in my corner.”

The singer also hinted at getting back to writing again at the end of 2025, after she was seen at Lily Allen’s Christmas party in London.

“I am hoping to gradually get back to performing and continuing pursuing my dreams. Happy holidays to you all and can’t wait to see you in 2026,” she wrote online. “Life is a journey, nothing is perfect but today I am doing well. All my love always, Lola.”
