Recognized as the most streamed classical composer of all time, Einaudi has built an incredible career spanning solo studio records, film scores for acclaimed productions such as Nomadland, The Father, and This Is England, as well as compositions for television, theater, and dance. His distinctive sound merges classical traditions with minimalism, folk, electronic elements, and improvisation, drawing global audiences to sold-out performances at venues like London’s Royal Albert Hall and The O2, Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Sydney Opera House.
In addition to receiving his Fellowship at the Grosvenor House ceremony, Einaudi will address attendees at The Ivors Academy Composer Summit on November 18 at the Royal Institution. Speaking about the honor, Einaudi expressed his gratitude, noting that British music shaped his artistic world and calling the UK a second home where his work was first widely embraced.
Ivors Academy CEO Lord Neri highlighted Einaudi’s role in bringing contemporary instrumental music to audiences on a massive scale, while Chair Tom Gray praised him as a pioneer who has continuously followed his artistic instincts to create a uniquely moving musical language.
The Ivors Composer Awards, sponsored by PRS for Music and presented in association with BBC Radio 3, celebrate excellence across film, television, games, and concert hall compositions. Hosted by Petroc Trelawny, the event forms part of the inaugural Ivors Composer Week running from November 16 to 20. Highlights from the ceremony will be broadcast across BBC Radio 3 programs, including The New Music Show and Sound of Cinema.
