M.I.A. announces surprise new “gospel” album ‘M.I.7.’ with uplifting song ‘Everything’ and 10G-blocking clothing

M.I.A. has announced a surprise new “gospel” album called ‘M.I.7’. Check out the lead single ‘Everything’ below, along with her newly announced clothing range that blocks 10G.

The new album is set for release on April 17 via her own OhmniMusic label, and will mark the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Mata’. Visit here to pre-order.

According to a new press release, the record comes in light of the artist’s pivot to Christianity, and is set to be “gospel record rooted in prayer, the Book of Revelation, and the Ark of the Covenant”.

It will feature the Sunday Service gospel choir – which was formed by Kanye West in 2019 – and will feature seven “songs”, broken down into 16-tracks.

Today (Wednesday April 8), M.I.A. has shared the first taste of the record with lead single ‘Everything’. The song, centred around a high-energy club theme, captures the evangelical motif with lyrics like: “No, I won’t live in sorrow/ Money I won’t borrow/ I will be blessed in all of my tomorrow.”

As well as the new music, the artist has also announced a second run of Ohmni clothing, which blocks 10G.

It comes after she went on Alex Jones’ show Infowars back in 2024 to promote the first run of the clothing line, which included a “tin foil hat” that she claimed blocked 5G. Now, she has launched a second range of the attire, and said that it blocks 10G.

“It’s been two years since collection one launched, and thank you for your patience,” she said, announcing the new range (via Stereogum). “What we have learned over these years, is that everything we have said before is only more relevant now.”

“In the age of ‘M.I.7’, or the revelation, it is not a time to wear revealing clothes, every sense is being over-stimulated and data harvested, or triggered,” she continued. “Ohmni in that time we have stepped up our protection fabrics to a new level. Our light weight copper 5G mesh is now strengthened to offer protection against 10G. Our bags fabrics have also received an upgrade and offer protection against advanced WIFI and cell tower strength. With Ohmni on us, so they don’t own us.”

In other M.I.A news, last year the singer made her entire mixtape catalogue available to stream online for free, including some of her most celebrated work.

The mixtapes included on her independent platform OHMNIMUSIC are ‘Piracy Funds Terrorism Vol. 1’ from 2004, as well as 2010’s ‘VickiLeekx’, 2023’s ‘Bells Collection’, and ‘Armour’, the standalone track she released in January 2025. this year.
