Madonna to unveil immersive Confessions II film at Tribeca Festival

The 2026 Tribeca Festival has announced a major cultural centerpiece for its upcoming season: the world premiere of Confessions II, a cinematic experience from global icon Madonna. Set to debut on June 5 at the historic Beacon Theatre, the film serves as a visual companion to the first six tracks of her highly anticipated new album. Following the screening, Madonna will participate in an exclusive conversation led by Jimmy Fallon, joined by the film’s directors, David Toro and Solomon Chase of the New York-based duo TORSO.

Confessions II is described as an ambitious, continuous visual work that blurs the lines between music video and high-concept cinema. Spanning over ten minutes, the film features tracks such as “I Feel So Free” and “Bring Your Love,” a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter. The narrative structure is divided into six interconnected chapters, ranging from psychological thrillers to “epic fever dreams.” Produced by Division and powered by Dolce & Gabbana, the project explores the visceral tension between public adoration and the desire for privacy—themes that have defined Madonna’s legendary career.

The film follows Madonna as she is pursued and ultimately deified by a squad of camera-wielding figures across various settings, from intimate bedrooms to high-octane arenas. Jane Rosenthal, Tribeca Festival Co-Founder, praised the project for its provocative nature, stating that it channels a “nightlife mythology” that only an artist of Madonna’s stature could manifest. The collaboration with TORSO—known for their post-internet visual language and boundary-pushing fashion films—ensures a transcendent aesthetic that catapults viewers through a “twisted dream logic” centered on the hallowed space of the dancefloor.

Beyond its artistic merit, the premiere highlights Madonna’s enduring commitment to reinvention and social dialogue. Having shaped music, fashion, and advocacy for decades, this latest evolution marks a return to her roots in club culture while utilizing cutting-edge digital storytelling. Tickets are available starting today exclusively for members of the Madonna Community. The event promises to be a highlight of the festival, offering a rare look at the craft behind one of the year’s most significant musical and cinematic crossovers.
