Man/Woman/Chainsaw announce long-awaited debut album ‘Cannonball’ with pulsating single ‘Nosedive’

Man/Woman/Chainsaw have announced their long-awaited debut album ‘Cannonball’ and shared the pulsating new single ‘Nosedive’.

The London-based six-piece band signed to Fiction Records at the end of 2025 when they dropped the beguiling single ‘Only Girl’. Now, they have confirmed that their album will be released on August 7 in multiple physical formats – pre-order your copy here.

‘Nosedive’, like ‘Only Girl’, was produced by Seth Evans (Geordie Greep, Black Midi) and Margo Broom (Fat White Family, Big Joanie), and it is a five-and-a-half minute danceable, DFA-influenced art-punk jam with synths, drums and strings swirling into a heady, propulsive climax.

Check out the video for ‘Nosedive’ here:

“It’s a song about longing for both comfort and freedom simultaneously in a relationship through the metaphor of being an injured bird needing shelter,” said singer and keyboardist Emmie-Mae. :We turned it into a danceable upbeat track, which made the tone shift throughout the song as though you find a way to pick yourself up and fly away.”

The ‘Cannonball’ tracklist is:

  1. ‘Only Girl’
  2. ‘Canyons’
  3. ‘Goddamn, Lizard Man!’
  4. ‘Lighter’
  5. ‘Nosedive’
  6. ‘Get Up And Dance’
  7. ‘Snakebite’
  8. ‘Flick Of The Wrist’
  9. ‘The Thing’
  10. ‘Still Angry’
  11. ‘Something Else To Give’

Man/Woman/Chainsaw were named one of NME‘s 100 Essential Emerging Artists to watch out for in 2025. The London-based band were praised for their “circus of orchestral grunge insanity”.

They are also heading out on a UK and European tour, with a string of dates having taken place last week. In September and October, they will play a number of UK dates, culminating in London’s Electric Ballroom on October 7. Find the full list of dates here and any remaining tickets here. They will also be playing at Latitude, Deer Shed and Rock Werchter this summer.

They released their breakthrough EP ‘Eazy Peazy’ in 2024, which NME awarded four stars and said contained a “fusion of grand strings and pianos with more traditional, riff-based rock chaos”.

The review added: “‘Eazy Peazy’ practically fizzes with youthful energy and the possibilities of musical creation. It’s raw and throws everything in its sizeable arsenal at the wall, however, basically everything sticks. The resulting effort’s audacious energy is a sight to behold and whips with enough force to spin your head clean off your shoulders.”
