Måneskin frontman Damiano David has officially announced his new solo project – you can find all the details below.
The singer shared a cryptic teaser online earlier this month, suggesting that something was coming soon.

He later opened up about going it alone while attending the 2024 MTV VMAs, explaining: “I’ve been working for a long, long time on a new project. And September 27 is the date of release so I would love everyone to stay tuned.”
Now, David has confirmed that he’ll launch his solo venture with a Labrinth-produced debut single titled ‘Silverlines’. As the vocalist recently shared, the song is due to arrive next Friday (September 27). You can pre-save/pre-add it here.
Per a press release, David’s decision to embark on a solo career was “born from the need to express a more personal and vulnerable part of himself, a part of him that remains completely unexplored in Måneskin’s songwriting”.
In another teaser clip, the artist explained: “I travelled all around the world to find my voice, just to end up where everything started. My name is Damiano David, and today is the first day of my life.”

He has since shared a distorted audio clip in which he says: “Ground control to Labrinth. Commander, I think we’ve lost him.”
David explained at last week’s MTV VMAs that he was “very proud” of his forthcoming solo material, and promised “a lot of new things” to come. However, he assured Måneskin fans that “nothing is going to change” with the Eurovision 2021-winning group. “The band is great,” he said. “We are going to work on stuff.”
His bandmate, Måneskin’s Victoria De Angelis recently announced her solo project and debut single ‘Get Up Bitch (Shake Ya Ass)’ featuring Anitta.

Last year, David opened up about the prospect of going solo, and said that he could imagine it being both “a very healthy thing and a very destructive thing”.
Måneskin’s third and latest studio album, ‘Rush!’, was released in January 2023. A deluxe edition of the record arrived later that year, boasting five new songs – including the single ‘Valentine’.
In a three-star review, NME described the original version of ‘Rush!’ as “a snapshot of how [Måneskin] conquered the snobbery and became a ride that everyone, from the do-gooders to the more sinister figures, has wanted a seat on over the past 18 months”.
It added: “To have navigated such a whirlwind period and arrived here, not just in one piece but thriving, is an astonishing accomplishment.”
Speaking to NME in October 2022, David explained that the band had “never been scared of the Eurovision label”. He reasoned: “For us, Eurovision was never the goal – it was just a way to reach our goals.”
David went on to say: “We’ve never been afraid of being ‘a Eurovision artist’ forever. We knew that it was going to change our lives. We’re happy, and we will always remember Eurovision as one of the main steps of our career.”
