Mary J. Blige tore into a heckler at her concert this week.
The hip-hop legend was performing one of her My Life, My Story Las Vegas residency shows on Wednesday (28.10.26), when a gig-goer started booing.
Speaking onstage at Dolby Live at Park MGM, she ranted: “To the b**** that’s booing, you didn’t have to come here.
“I hope someone sees you and politely removes you.”
She went on: “The f*** you spend your money for, idiot?
“I’m sorry. Sometimes I have to go in because that’s where I’m from.”
In the official statement announcing the residency, she said: “I’ve been so excited to announce this Vegas residency. Creating a show like this has been something I’ve always wanted to do.
“It’s a chance to get my fans together from all over – different cities, states, and countries – to experience something together.
“My Life, My Story will be just that – with some surprises for my fans that have been there through it all. See you in May!”
Meanwhile, Blige recently revealed she turned down Rihanna’s 2007 hit Umbrella.
The singer claims she was offered the mega-hit featuring Jay-Z – who co-wrote the song with its producers Tricky Stewart and Kuk Harrell, with additional writing contributions coming from The-Dream – but ultimately decided it didn’t suit her.
Appearing on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, she recalled: “All I heard was [the lyric] ‘eh, eh,’ and I was like, ‘Yo, my fans are gonna bug out on me if they hear me talking about eh, eh, eh.'”
As soon as she heard Rihanna’s version, she knew she’d made the right decision.
Blige added: “Then when I heard Rihanna do it, I was like, ‘See, it was for Rihanna, it wasn’t for me.’
“It got away, but it wasn’t for me in the first place.”
Umbrella topped the charts in 19 countries and won a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 2008 ceremony.
It was actually written with Britney Spears in mind.
